What is Laser Teeth Whitening?
Laser teeth whitening is a speedy and effective way to deal with several dental issues, including gum disease, dental decay, and, of course, teeth whitening.
The procedure is a very effective way to brighten your smile without removing any tooth surface or causing damage to your teeth.
Although all teeth whitening procedures work by releasing oxygen ions from a tooth whitening gel, which gently lifts stains from the teeth. Advancements in technology have enabled laser teeth whitening to activate hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide solutions more quickly, producing the desired results more quickly and in fewer treatments.

What Type of Stains can Be Removed by Laser Teeth Whitening?
Whitening can be useful in removing the two types of dental tooth discoloration.
Exterior Tooth Discoloration
Smoking and consuming certain foods and beverages that contain tannins, such as carrots, oranges, coffee, tea, and wine, can, over time, darken or yellow your teeth.
Because these stains are on the outer layers of your teeth, they are easier to remove. Some whitening toothpastes can help eliminate these stains, but laser teeth whitening provides better, more lasting results.
Internal Tooth Discoloration
High levels of fluoride, tetracycline, use of antibiotics as a child, developmental disorders, tooth decay, restorations, root canal issues, and trauma usually cause this type of stain. These factors cause internal changes in tooth enamel and dentin, resulting in discoloration of the tooth’s exterior.
Because the stain originates within the tooth, professional whitening treatments such as laser teeth whitening are needed to remove it. Using whitening toothpastes or strips will not remove them.

LASER TEETH WHITENING PROCEDURE
How is it Done?
During the procedure, your mouth must remain open and your teeth exposed; for this reason, the dentist will use a rubber guard to help you keep your mouth open.
Afterward, the dentist will apply a protective gel to your gums to prevent them from coming in contact with the whitening solution.
Once this is done, the whitening solution will be applied to each treated tooth, and a pen-style laser is used to activate the compound; the laser will cause the solution to foam a little as it lifts the stains.
The compound will be allowed to remain on the teeth for a few minutes before being vacuumed with a special tool. This process will be repeated several times, depending on the stain’s severity.
At the end of the treatment session, the dentist will carefully rinse your mouth and gently remove the protective layer from your gums and the guard.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The whitening treatment will not prevent new stains from forming. Results typically last between 6 months and several years, depending on your eating, drinking, and smoking habits.
Some patients report increased sensitivity, especially in the first few days after treatment. Not everyone will experience this sensitivity, but those who do generally report mild symptoms. If sensitivity occurs, your provider can recommend appropriate ways to help manage temporary discomfort.
